Chocolate Wasted Cake

So, for his birthday, the hubs wanted a chocolate cake, so I gave him MANY options for him to choose for many chocolate cakes and cheesecakes and he chose the chocolate wasted cake. So, I made it. It was amazing. It still is. I gotta warn you: it's a very dense chocolate. It's not too sweet, but it's heavy for the stomach. It's delicious. Give it a try!
I used:

Cake
  • 3 cups AP flour
  • 2.5 cups sugar
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Frosting
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup softener butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Decoration
  • 1 candy bar of each: Kit Kat, Snickers, Butterfinger, M&Ms (1 pack), Babe Ruth (top of the cake)
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips + 5 tbsp heavy cream (drizzling chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (sides of the cake)

Preheat oven to 325°F degrees. Spray 3 seconds of Butter PAM on two or three 8-inch cake pans. Set aside.
Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.

In an electric mixer bowl, add milk, butter, honey and vanilla extract.

Slowly add the dry ingredients into the liquids mixture.

Whisk together...

... until well combined.

Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Pour in the batter into prepared cake pan.

Bake for 30-45 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean. LEt it cool completely and transfer to the cake's plate.

Oops! Some part got stucked in the pan.

Just place it where it corresponds.

Now, for the other cake. Repeat. I don't have many cake pans of the same size, so I made two separate cakes.

While the second cake is cooling down, start preparing the frosting. In the bowl of an electric mixer sift together powdered sugar and cocoa powder.

Add butter, milk and vanilla extract.

Slowly whisk together at low speed...

...until well combined.

Frost the top of the first cake.

Top with the second cake.

Frost them on the sides and on the top.

Cover the sides with 1/2 cup (or as needed) of chocolate chips.

Now, place the previously chopped candy bars on top of the cake.

Melt chocolate drizzle ingredients.

And drizzle alll over the cake.

Make sure the drizzle drops to the sides.

And on the top.

And everywhere!

Have a slice!

And a smile!
